HOW DOES IT WORK?
The CERA system utilizes the power of light as a powerful wellness technology applied to the gut and brain simultaneously.
For hundreds of years, medicine has separated brain wellness from the rest of the body, as if there’s no connection. Recently, scientists have changed this approach as research is showing that targeting the “gut-brain” connection can heal many chronic problems as well as support brain wellness, and improve focus, cognition, and memory.
The CERA system is an innovative, safe, non-toxic technology that is based on photo biomodulation or red light therapy, targeting both the brain and gut via a headband and abdominal panel.
WHAT MAKES CERA DIFFERENT
6 PRESET PROGRAMS WITH HEALING FREQUENCIES
The CERA System has 6 Preset programs to aid various brain, and gut-brain applications based on modulation of the light emission via pulsing or oscillations.
We have included 7.8 Hz Schumann Frequency, 10 Hz alpha, 40 Hz gamma, and 100 Hz high frequency oscillation options, in addition to CW (continuous wave). In this way the CERA System be used for a variety of brain enhancing applications including

THE SCIENCE BEHIND RED LIGHT THERAPY (PHOTOBIOMODULATION OR PBM)
Red light therapy, or to give it its scientific name, photobiomodulation or PBM, refers to the use of light to interact with living tissues and affect cellular processes. When red light is absorbed by cells and tissues, it triggers a cascade of photochemical reactions that lead to increased production of ATP (cellular energy), activation of signaling pathways, and stimulation of cellular repair and rejuvenation processes. Additionally, red light therapy has been shown to promote angiogenesis (the growth of new blood vessels), dilate blood vessels, and stimulate the release of growth factors and cytokines that play a role in cell proliferation and tissue repair.
Red light and near-infrared (NIR) light are part of the electromagnetic spectrum, which includes radio waves, microwaves, infrared, visible light, ultraviolet, X-rays, and gamma rays. Red light therapy is an umbrella term that generally encompasses the use of both red and near-infrared (NIR) light for healing and wellness applications.
Visible red light has a wavelength range of around 620-750 nm. Near-infrared (NIR) light has a longer wavelength, with a range of around 750-1200 nm, and is invisible to the naked eye.

The CeraThrive team brings together experts in many fields of health and wellness including engineers, neuroscientists, brain fitness coaches, biohackers and quality assurance.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
At the moment, there is no classification for red light therapy as a treatment for a brain health condition. We are hoping to do our part in supporting research to change this. The system has an FDA classification for pain, wound healing and increased micro-circulation.
This means that we cannot make claims to cure, prevent, treat or diagnoseany brain illness.
No, SAD lamps contain a full spectrum (all colors or wavelengths) of light. The CERA system uses only red and near infrared light – although the CERA System may help boost mood.
Yes, you can use the CERA Headband without using the CERA Body Panel to target the brain only. We recommend using the devices together for maximum therapeutic effect.
Yes, you can use the CERA Body Panel on joints, limbs and anywhere else you would usually use a red light device. You do not need the CERA App for this.
Yes! Near infrared light can penetrate bone and reach the outer layer of the brain. Longer wavelengths of light will penetrate further than shorter wavelengths. The CERA Headband contains 3 different wavelengths of near infrared light: 850 nm, 940 nm and 1070 nm in order to reach the maximal amount of light receptors in the brain. The CERA Headband also has red light at 630 nm which will irradiate the skin and blood more superficially.
The CERA System utilizes red light that can penetrate the skull and reach the brain, as well as irradiate the gut. This exposure to red light stimulates photoreceptors in these areas, initiating a cascade of biological responses. These responses contribute to the production of energy and neurotransmitters, ultimately resulting in improved brain function and enhanced communication between the gut and the brain.
The CERA System offers 6 preset programs that enable you to choose the protocol that best aligns with your wellness goals. While you can certainly selfselect a program, we highly recommend considering the option of CERA brain coaching sessions or seeking advice from a qualified expert. Brain coaching sessions and expert guidance can provide valuable insights and ensure that you optimize the use of the CERA System to achieve your desired outcomes.
The CERA System can be used with the preset programs to provide a general increase in wellness and body harmony over time. To use the system in the most effective way, a brain coach will gather your case history and potentially measure your brain function and health status. Based on these metrics, the brain coach will create a customized program tailored to your specific goals. You will receive regular assessments and support to evaluate the impact of the intervention and make any necessary adjustments to the protocol as you progress on your wellness and performance journey. If you use a tracking device such as an Oura ring, Whoop, Garmin, or similar, the data can be utilized to assess your progress.
The timeframe for experiencing noticeable results from therapy varies from person to person. Factors such as your starting point, level of commitment to your wellness program, and other lifestyle factors can influence the rate of progress. While some individuals may report improved mood and cognitive function after just a few sessions of red light therapy, it is important to understand that it may take several weeks or even months of consistent treatment to observe significant improvements. It’s crucial to remember that red light therapy is not a one-size-fits-all solution, and individual responses may vary. Patience and dedication to your wellness journey are key in achieving desired outcomes.
Red light therapy for the brain is generally considered safe, but some people may experience temporary side effects, such as headaches, dizziness, or skin irritation. It is important to follow the recommended guidelines and protocols to minimize the risk of any potential side effects.
You can overdo it. Light therapy has what is known as a bi-phasic dose response. That means that too little light will have little effect, and too much light may cancel out any benefits. There is a sweet spot. We recommend using the CERA System once a day or 3-5 days a week, or have the instruction of a CERA brain wellness coach.
The devices utilize infrared light, which may generate some warmth during use. However, they should not become excessively hot or cause discomfort. If you notice that the devices are becoming very hot during use, it is advisable to discontinue use and reach out to customer support for assistance.
Our bodies have a circadian clock that is synchronized with the natural phases of sunrise and sunset. Since the CERA System utilizes red and near infrared light, which are predominantly present during these times of day, using the devices within these time frames may potentially yield greater benefits. The key is to incorporate regular sessions into your routine.
Yes, if supervised by an adult and under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
No, the headband fits over the forehead and so the light will not shine in the eyes. We recommend not to look at the lights while they are turned on.
During your light therapy session, it is recommended to have direct exposure of the CERA Headband and CERA Body Panel to the skin. While you can wear clothes, it is important to ensure that these devices are placed on bare, clean, and dry skin to ensure optimal contact and effectiveness of the therapy.
Yes, there have been numerous scientific studies conducted on red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation or low-level laser therapy. These studies have explored its effects on various conditions and areas of the body. To access these scientific studies, you can search online academic databases such as PubMed (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed), Scopus (www.scopus.com), and the Cochrane Library (www.cochranelibrary.com). Using relevant keywords like “red light therapy,” “photobiomodulation,” or “low-level laser therapy” along with specific conditions or areas of interest can help you find relevant studies.
